A damaged wall with visible rough patches, in need of plastering for a smooth and even finish.

Following the removal of the old, heavy-duty lining paper, our customers uncovered severely compromised wall surfaces requiring extensive plastering work. This discovery necessitates a comprehensive approach to address the imperfections, including skimming, patching, and potentially full plastering services, to achieve a smooth and professionally finished result

In preparation prior to plastering the two walls, we needed to scrape off the remaining wallpaper glue and remove any remaining lining paper.

Then we sealed both walls with P.V.A and fixed thin coat angle beads around the window reveals.

To ensure a high-quality finish, we applied two coats of Thistle Mult iFinish plaster. This created a smooth and durable surface on the walls. Following this, we meticulously cleaned the ceiling and wall lines to remove any excess plaster.

During the one to two hour setting period of the plaster, we meticulously smooth the walls using our trowels. This process involves repeatedly going over the plastered surface, gradually achieving a smoother and more refined finish as the plaster begins to harden. Our attention to detail during this crucial stage ensures a perfectly smooth and professional result.

These walls were very dry due to the backing or undercoat plaster being a sand & cement plaster.

Clean and tidy room on completion of plastering

C.L. Plastering prepared this room for plastering by checkong there were no nails in the walls from removal of the skirting.

All socket faces are released from the wall surfaces and taped for cleanliness and so they are not encapsulated in to the plaster.

We then applied P.V.A using a medium pile roller for a uniformed finish, ensuring even coverage across all surfaces.

Then fixed thin coat angle beads to the returns of the chimney breast and the inside returns of the fireplace.

Once the room was prepared we applied two coats of multi finish plaster to the ceiling and walls then during the setting process we would smooth the wall by repeatedly going over the plastered surface, gradually achieving a smoother and more refined finish as the plaster begins to harden.
